Teaching my son about harvesting

Hi! I’m Whitney.  I am a student at the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), where I am studying Therapeutic Herbalism and will earn my Master of Science, with a concentration in herbal product design.

I am an herbalist, aromatherapist, and plant nerd.  I hold certificates in Natural Products Manufacturing (CNPM), Herbal Retail Management (CHRM), and Aromatherapy (CA) from the American College of Healthcare Science (ACHS).  In addition to the formal education, I have years of experience with aromatherapy and product formulation and manufacturing.

I spent eight years as a Spanish and Portuguese translator in the United States Navy.  I have a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from American Military University (AMU), an Associate of Arts in Spanish from the Defense Language Institute, and an Associates of Art from Pensacola Junior College. Additionally, I hold a Paralegal Certificate from AMU.

I have a unique mix of experiences, skills, and education that lead to a strong desire to create scientifically sound products that combine modern technology with the best that Mother Nature has to offer.  My short term goals are to complete my Master of Science and get the Registered Herbalist designation from the American Herbalist Guild.  My long term goals are to run my own herb farm, create exquisite botanically-based products, contribute to the research in the field, get published, and educate others on herbal medicine.
